My Arrogant Assistant

Children ought to respect their parent’s wishes and not sabotage their relationships. The trouble is that so many parents have been too soft and never said “No” to their little ones.  Consequently they grow up very spoiled arrogant, controlling and manipulative because they are accustomed to having their own way and throw a wobbly when they don’t.

My new personal assistant didn’t seem very spoiled and was rather intelligent.  When asked about her particulars ups and downs and what she can’t and can handle in the interview, she commented on being frustrated with dumb people and people her age as being “stupid” and how it upsets her.

Everything was fine, and we had a very productive and great two days.  I was very excited to find her and it seemed too good to be true.    Over the weekend, there were some disasters that I had to put out – and when it came to it on Sunday when the PA called, I told her I am a little busy and will her back after lunch.    Basically I was putting together her mess, and cleaning it up but I didn’t want to tell her to make her upset.  Finally, she texted me a few times, and asked me what’s wrong.  In the most polite way, I explained to her in business, sometimes when things do not go right, there are steps one must make to rectify the situation.

As I went on to explain (via text!)  Because she didn’t answer her phone, her replies got more and more angry.  Never once did I blame her nor tell her I was upset with her.    I told her I was upset with myself and I wanted to talk to her in person in half hour - since she was supposed to work today anyway.
