I think its time to give some credit to the celebrities doing things that are actually worthy of attention and praise. One major action I would like to applaud are the celeb moms choosing to breastfeed. Now that is something us common folk can look up to and should. You hear a lot of fuss about stars being “too posh to push” (requesting c-sections) or hiring three nannies but you barely hear much about them nursing.
I was so proud the day I saw Christina Aguilera on Ellen after having her baby. It was actually a very funny moment when Ellen asked her “are you nursing?” Aguilera responded by saying yes and laughing that it must be obvious, and yes it was very obvious when you saw those giant melons stuffed in that dress! She was definitely not trying to hide it. It was refreshing to see a sexy mega star like her showing the world that she was feeding her baby the old-fashioned way. When you are a nursing mother you are even more attached to caring for your baby, your new baby relies on you ever 2 hours to eat which can be utterly (no pun intended) exhausting some days and nights. It let’s everyday, average Moms know they can do it too.
Christina isn’t the only one. Some other well known mamas whipping (or planning to) the boob out are…Salma Hayek, Nicole Richie Maggie Gyllenhaal, Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Tori Spelling, and happily this list goes on! This is a great thing and something that will hopefully inspire others. So here’s a shout out to all you Hollywood moms going the extra mile to nourish your little ones!
